The Post Bar presents Raz & Afla, Monzanto Sound and DJs Tryb & Chidera O

The Post Bar will be hosting an incredible night of Afro infused rhythms by some truly exciting musicians.

Raz & Afla will be performing their newly released debut album, ‘The Cycle’, which has already garnered attention from some of the most significant names on radio such as Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova and Mary Anne Hobbs.

The duo’s music represents a harmonious union of African influences with electronic music, full of soul, vibrant energy and captivating rhythms. It’s unique musical fusion owes much to its creators' experience as true mainstays of the London music scene for the past twenty years, as well as their thoughtful artistic approach in which modernity and tradition maintain an ongoing dialogue.

We will also be joined by Monzanto Sound, a London based band fusing together different styles from the African

Diaspora and combining them with a hypnotic, psychedelic edge. They are a high energy, rhythmic group with an ear for space and simplicity capable of getting any crowd moving. Lyrically, there is an emotional honesty that speak on multiple levels.

Traversing through krautrock inflected funk, psychedelic trip hop and cosmic neo-soul, they connect those dots using pulsating grooves, hypnotic polyrhythms and soaring vocals; all bathed in a Mali-I’s dub aesthetic.

Tryb brings the Highlife and Sunshine to the people with her regular shows on NTS, Threads and Soho Radio. She is a renowned party starter especially on the QTIPOC London scene, having cofounded nights like Regayton and Afrotronics. She blurs the lines between genres, there is no limit to the sounds of Tryb, with Afrobeats, Baille, Bass, Reggaeton, Dembow, vibes making their waves in Tryb's vibrant mixes.

DJ Chidera O was listed on @foundation.fm ‘s ones to watch, this absolute powerhouse balances her DJ career with being a junior doctor. The South Londoner blends afro inspired sounds and has played at clubs and festivals such as Gala, Ministry of Sound and XOYO.
