About the Event
Named after a Celia Cruz classic and inspired by pan-Latin styles like salsa, cumbia and mambo, Quimbara are a recently formed London-based band brimming with passion for Latin American culture and its music, which they blend with jazz, afrobeat and London’s scents. The musicians, who come from the UK, Colombia, Peru, the US and Italy, joined forces just before the first lockdown hit, requiring all of us to stay at home. But now, they are finally back together on a stage ready to enthral you with Latin vibes. Latin vibes also spread far and wide by our good old friend DJ Lou Pino. He will open and close the evening with his vintagy and electrifying selection that will end up letting your chair dance with you. DJ and Radio Presenter Lou Pino, is known for his popular monthly radio show Grand Parade on Reel Rebels Radio, a superb mix of vintage Jamaican, calypso and Latin music, plus politics, football, food and general insanity. Then, save the date and the location… on the March 6th live music in all its Latin glory is back in Tottenham!
