Join us this Friday 24th June for a night of Pura Cumbia! bringing this wonderful rhythm from latin America with a fusion of tropical sounds from Classic to modern rhythms, salsa and Latin RocknRolla including live music, DJ session, live visuals and special opening night with a short musical film "Su majestad la Cumbia" because Cumbia is the new punk!

Direct from Peru we welcome Los Bravos de la K’umbia, full-power tropical– psychedelic band bringing the classic sounds of Peruvian roots of Chicha. Led by Wilfredo Avalos (Antara) and the classic chicha guitar legend El maestro Lalo; the band brings to life the hybrid sound popular in the 1960s and 1970s that blends Andean and cumbia rhythms with psychedelic effects — is experiencing a global reawakening with fierce Latin energy.

Special guests Peruvian - UK top musicians and brothers Johnny Rodriguez and Cleyder Rodriguez from Kausary & Manzana Tropical with an extended experience in Andean, Latin music and the Cumbia and Chicha sound.

On the decks, DJ Carlitos Nino introducing the sounds of Latin America, from vintage vinyl sounds of Cumbia, Salsa brava, and Tropical to modern rhythms, Latin funk disco, Tropical Bass, Electro, Soundsystem and remixes from around the world.

Synopsis

Chicha music,fuses the tropical sounds of cumbia with the traditional Andean sounds. Additional influences from international genres such as surf and psychedelic rock, salsa, and even techno give Chicha a distinct sound. Although Chicha is to be considered as one genre, it is also possible to recognize different styles, which somehow are related to the regional origins of migrants.
