About this event

Plantfood

Leeds based Plantfood are a musically diverse project, drawing influences from a range of jazz infused styles, creating a uniquely crafted sound. Their performances are versatile, incorporating elements of spiritual jazz, afrobeat & classical music into their sets. They aim to push the boundaries of modern jazz and create serious vibes in the process. They join the KULA family for a headline set.

Léa & The Sunflowers

Support comes from the wonderful Lea & The Sunflowers, a futuristic Afro-Jazz band with a genre-bending sound from high life, to bossa nova and reggae. Léa’s music largely talks about life, peace, and freedom while reflecting on the state of the world. Her lyrics are politically charged, sharing her personal experiences and deep concerns about society, expressed in both Lingala and English. Her songs are positive and catchy!

Poet RS

An experienced & energetic host, poet and entertainer, Poet RS joins the KULA lineup. Working also as a  teacher working with children and young adults, Rohan thrives to inspire others to tell their truths through their medium 'Inspire the world through your own inspiration’. His poetry spans many key topics such as mental health, racism, self-worth, single parenting, societal misconceptions and personal traumas. He aims to use his poetry as a steering wheel to inform educate and bring light to different minds.
