About the Event
The Near East Collective are starting their autumn and winter 21 gigs with a much awaited get together at the Post Bar! As we do....we will explore and perform rebetika and folk music of Greece, Asia Minor and the Balkans. Our ragged boat will sail from the Ionian coast, through the mountains of Albania, Epirus and Macedonia, stopping over in Thrace and ending in the musical melting pots of Istanbul and Athens. Join us for a night of singing and dancing to the good old folk groove from the south!
