About the Event

Memphis (USA) rapper Lukah joins us at The Post Bar Tottenham, for the London leg of his debut European tour.

Lukah is a South Memphis-based rapper whose incredible story-telling, commanding voice and filmic music videos have had us hooked since we first discovered his output. Bringing together influences from boom bap, g-funk and soul, his tunes are full of characterful production and unrelenting reality raps.

He's supported by a collection of inspired rappers, vocalists & DJs - see below for full line-up details.

This event is also a celebration 9 years of Loose Lips, a music collective we launched in September 2014! 9 years and counting...of looseness, raves, gigs, community, story-telling, premieres & debacles...

---  LINE-UP:

-- Coolhand - a bassoon-wielding wordsmith with incredible dexterity.

-- Izzi - Netil & Aaja radio resident & Daytimers affiliate. Exploring the intersection of global sounds & rhythms with forward-thinking UK dance music. Supported the likes of Anz, HAAi, Papa Nugs, Kasra (Critical Music), Airali & Tia Cousins.

-- Lukah - South Memphis rapper landing for his UK debut headline show!

-- Ross Al Ghul - DJ and host of “Thrust” on WYXR 91.7fm in Memphis. He is a member of the Bodywerk collective and has DJ’d sharing bills with many Memphis artists including Qemist, Tommy Wright III, Gangsta Boo, DJ Spanish Fly, Al Kapone, and Andrew VanWyngarden (MGMT). Will be warming up the night with a Memphis rap set.

-- Stooky Bros - Deener & J’Royal Price. After grinding it out making tapes with their friends, they eventually found themselves producing and writing for musical heavyweights like Lil Wayne, Timbaland & Fergie, just to name a few. Growing disillusioned with the politics of the game, they decided to take matters into their hands. Entering into a new space artistically, Deener (the producer half) of the MC tandem who also happens to be a budding painter, decided that in order to create in the way he truly wanted to, he had to colour outside the lines. What followed were hard hitting drums and rugged loops that have shaped the Stooky Bros sound. Knowing that your story can only truly be told if you tell it yourself, the pair offer up layering wordplay over soundscapes that lend themselves to valuing creativity over all.

-- T-Scale b2b Medallion Man - T-Scale flying in from Lisbon to come together with his Loose Lips counterpart for a set of bass-driven and hip-hop-inspired experiments.

-- Tzusan - fresh from his Lead Wetsuit Schematics UK tour with Shogun, SAMA-nominated rapper & producer Tzusan heads into London for a special solo show, sure to be full of obscure story-telling, unreleased gems and post-modern lessons.

-- WondrWomn - a calm powerful presence can be felt on and off the stage as WondRWomN delivers intricate wordplay over jazzy, modern, or old school hip hop beats.
