HAFLA! is back with multifarious line up of live acts and DJs, exploring the breadth of Middle Eastern, north African and Balkan music.

Collective of queer and feminist performers of Turkish, Kurdish, Cypriot and Southwest-Asian heritages living in London. They take inspiration from harems of the past, where women and queer folk were ‘owned’, enslaved and sexually abused by a powerful male figure ; but at the same time there was a culture of solidarity and creation of art, beauty and eroticism. 

They’ve got rid of the toxic owner, liberated the oppressed and made The Harem of No One, with the desire to show their art, beauty and sexualities through performance, art, music and love; while creating a safe space for our communities.

Shkembe Soup, a vibrant collective of musicians & dancers, dazzles audiences with a fusion of tantalizing live music & captivating dance. Take a global journey through their music & dance of diverse cultures. Your ears revel in the enchanting melodies of Egypt, Hungary & East London while your eyes feast on the hypnotic swirls of skirts & glistening golden wings. Feel free to clap, sing along & even join them in a spirited kolo/horo dance, traversing through time & space, from Medieval Morocco to 1940s London via the arid deserts of Bohemia. Their multi-talented group includes singers, dancers & instrumentalists skilled in the art of guitar, djembe, darbuka, violin, mandolin, trumpet & more.
