Dance time! Friday 20th May we are back at The Post Bar, and gassed to be joined by Lo Kindre, Mellowdramatics, and Genghis Cohn. Bigg line-up!

Lo Kindre is one of our favourite producers, and we are super lucky to have him coming to DJ for us :) We tried writing some words, but nothing can compare with the perfect tone of 12th Isle's notes for their release of his (incredible) record:

"Lo Kindre is the solo project of Irish/Luxembourgish bedroom producer, amateur footballer and award-winning bartender Daniel Magee. Crawling out from the undergrowth at the speed of a snail this six track EP builds upon his previous venture for Optimo Music and manages to enchant in many of the same ways. Chlorophytum ticks all of the right boxes, sitting somewhere between a budding sci-fi homage, drum machine escapism and a fascination with the motorik styles of West Germany and the wider On-U continuum. Lo Kindre's sound has recently developed by way of countless hours spent twiddling with delay units alongside vintage Italian football commentary and murky casks of Tennents. It culminates here in the following six tracks. The seventh 12th Isle now ecstatically morphs from our galaxy into yours.”

He also runs Phase Group alongside MR TC, who he has also released 10/10 sludge with, as well as releasing under ‘Hyppia’. Get listening!

On the topic of our favourite producers… Mellowdramatics is surely one of our favourite DJs! We were lucky enough to have her join us on our Netil radio show a while back, and we have been consistently listening back to the show when we wanna get a dance on in the kitchen. She helps run the amazing B.O.S.S. - Black Obsidian Sound System which was nominated for the Turner Prize ( :O !!!! ):

“Black Obsidian Sound System was established in the summer of 2018 with the intention of bringing together a community of queer, trans and non-binary black and people of colour involved in art, sound and radical activism. Following in the legacies of sound system culture they wanted to learn, build and sustain a resource for our collective struggles. The system, based in London, is available to use or rent by community groups and others with the purpose of amplifying and connecting them.”

Mellowdramatics will be playing at peak time and will be making you shake.

Genghis Cohn is a freaky talent. We first heard his sounds via the much loved and much missed Low Company records, and have since followed him as he has rolled through concrète sounds, concrete sounds, and anger. Its been a while since we have caught him, so we eagerly await how he will be welcoming you to The Post Bar. Expect a show.
